Updates from Middletown

Middletown continues to be an attractive place for investors, developers and businesses.  The development-ready sites in our Opportunity Zone are attracting the attention of local and national investors who want to build an assortment of projects.

Downtown, as always, is attracting new retailers and restaurants such Abyssinian an Ethiopian restaurant, Qawa, an Arabic coffee shop and the Man Cave, a unique shop offering cigars and upscale gifts for men.  There is a long line of restaurants interested in the former First and Last space.

Developers are building more than 200 new apartments to complement the Midd-Conn upscale apartments in downtown.

The Middlesex County Chamber’s MEWS+ co-working space has launched two successful programs,  “Lunch and Learn” training for entrepreneurs and COLLISION, a pitch competition for start-ups and new companies.
