Excitement in Hartford as Spring Approaches!

2/22/2017

The City of Hartford is currently seeking proposals for the acquisition/redevelopment of 525 Main Street, a former office building ripe for residential conversion, directly across from City Hall. More details available at PlanetBids.com; final proposals due March 20, last opportunity to participate in mandatory pre-bid walk through on March 6!

Capewell lofts delivered in December of 2016 and is already over 50% leased up, surpassing pro-forma expectations by leaps and bounds! This swift stabilization has been true of all six of Hartford’s downtown luxury apartment conversion projects in the past five years, evidence of a pent-up demand for high-quality residences in the core of the capital city!

Dunkin’ Donuts Stadium, home to the Hartford YardGoats, is on pace to deliver in time for their spring home opener on April 13 2017! In its effort to address brownfields, the City of Hartford was recently awarded a $605,000 grant to remediate a parcel of land in the North End. Funding was provided through the DECD Round 10 Brownfield Grant Program. Many other towns across Connecticut received awards, for more information click here.

On the business front, United Bank announced a move and expansion to downtown Hartford, taking approximately 68,000 sq. ft. of space in Goodwin Square. Notably, the State Bond Commission approved a $3.6 million incentive package to Cliniflow, a medical venture capital group from New York, to relocate headquarters to the “President’s Corner” area adjacent to Hartford Hospital.

Lastly, the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation is slated to break ground later this spring for a $30 million streetscape/safety improvement overhaul on Albany Avenue.
