CEDAS Scholarship Sends Six to NEDA Conference

CEDAS is proud to announce that through its scholarship program, the organization was able to send six CEDAS members to the 2016 NEDA Conference held in New Haven, Connecticut this past September.

CEDAS is always trying to encourage its members to expand their professional development and networking.  Here are some testimonials from a few of those who benefited from the scholarship.

Rose Ponte, Town of Farmington:  “I believe in the value of professional development. During this conference current best practices, current market trends, successful solutions to common challenges were all highlighted and I understood them much better after attending the conference. Having a better understanding of the various market trends and changes in society allows me to bring this information back to my business community.”

Don Peterson, Vice Chair Town of Fairfield Economic Development Commission: “I found the conference informative and thought provoking. Some of my discussions during the meals and networking sessions also very helpful. I think CEDAS is quite generous to provide funding for volunteer commissioners like me, that would not otherwise be able to attend such events.”

Stuart Popper, Town of Cromwell: “I want to thank the CEDAS Board of Directors for offering me the scholarship and giving me the opportunity to attend and participate in the Northeast Economic Development Association conference in New Haven.” He goes on to say, “I work in small community with no other professional development staff and I don’t receive much feedback or have the opportunity to look at issues with other points of view.  The other great benefit of attending the conference was the opportunity to be energized professionally and go back to work with renewed enthusiasm and new ideas.”
