Scholarship Offering for NEDA Annual Conference

8/3/2016

The NEDA annual conference is upcoming in New Haven, September 11 to 13th.  The NEDA Executive Committee is offering six (6) full-conference registration scholarships to individuals who are engaged with economic and community development.

The early-bird registration fee for the NEDA conference is $395.  Six Scholarships of $395 will be given to NEDA region-based economic development or community development professionals to off-set the cost of the registration fee.  Scholarship recipients would still be accountable for their travel and hotel costs.  The basic guidelines are:

  • The economic development or community development professional must work in the 11 State NEDA region.
  • The person must be nominated for the scholarship by an active NEDA Board Member or member of the New Haven Annual Conference Steering Committee.
  • Nominees must meet the general diversity guidelines stipulated above.
  • Scholarships will be applied immediately so that recipients will not have to pay for the conference registration up front, and we will keep track of their registration information.

To nominate someone for a scholarship, please email a letter of recommendation that includes a link to a description of their professional activities, such as their LinkedIn or website bio page to:

James Keib
NEDA Executive Director
The Gleason Center
314 Second Street
Liverpool, NY  13088
execdir@nedaonline.org

All nominations will be reviewed and selected by the NEDA Executive Committee. Applications must be in to Jim by August 12th in order to meet the early-bird registration deadline and to provide scholarship recipients with ample time to organize their travel plans.

Remember, we only have a limited number of scholarships to offer, so get your nominations in soon. This is a great opportunity to introduce a wider-range of professionals to NEDA and to expose them to the outstanding programming and networking opportunities our annual conference has to offer.

Best regards,
Tim Smith
NEDA Board President
