The Town of Old Saybrook Seeking Consultants for Marinerís Way

4/12/2016

The Town of Old Saybrook is seeking a Team of Consultants for the Mariner’s Way Brownfields Area-wide Revitalization (BAR) Planning Project. This is the next step for the Town of Old Saybrook to move forward with efforts to redevelop the eastern-most section of Route 1 (aka Boston Post Road) from Mystic Market to Ferry Point.

The Mariner’s Way Plan, adopted as a section of the Town’s Plan of Conservation and Development in 2014, provides concepts for redevelopment.  Several steps have been made by the Town toward the goal of redevelopment including an on-going Brownfields Assessment project on nine properties located in  Mariner’s Way, efforts to propose zoning changes that encourage redevelopment, and now the BAR Planning Project to refine Mariner’s Way concepts into strategies and tasks that will lead to revitalization of the area.
