CEDAS Partners with the Connecticut Green Bank on C-PACE


On March 29th, CEDAS and Connecticut Green Bank partnered to present an informative breakfast seminar entitled "Energy Improvement Financing, Strengthening Employers in Your Town." Over three dozen economic professionals from around the state were in attendance. Bryan Garcia, President and CEO, of Connecticut Green Bank gave an overview of this innovative program, which provides an affordable way for businesses, manufacturers and nonprofits to pay for green energy updates. Jim Benigni, CEO of the Meriden YMCA and Kerry Brown, VP of operations from Curtis Packaging shared their experiences on how easy it was to implement the program.

A panel of Economic Development Directors from the City of Meriden, the City of Bridgeport and the Town of Suffield was moderated by Mackey Dykes, VP of Commercial and Industrial Programs at C-PACE. The panel shared their experiences with the program, and provided examples of how to use the program to attract new companies and help existing companies expand in their municipalities.

To date there have been $73,624,454 in completed projects, providing $172 million in saved energy costs, and 17,441 tons of GHG emissions eliminated. There are currently 112 participating cities and towns that can use C-PACE to fuel economic development and make their communities cleaner and help their citizen thrive.
