NEDA 2016 in New Haven Planning Underway with Support from CEDAS

Planning has begun for the 2016 Northeastern Economic Developers Association (NEDA) which will take place from September 11-13th in New Haven. NEDA is a membership organization of economic development professionals representing the whole Northeast from Maine to Maryland.

The theme for the conference is "Transportation at the Crossroads" as the region grapples with how to plan, fund and manage transportation systems from trails, to roads, to rail, to airports and how these systems effect economic development. CEDAS, in partnership with REX Development and the City of New Haven, will host this conference in the beautiful and vibrant Elm City at the Omni Hotel, in walking distance to many city offerings.

We are looking for volunteers to serve on five committees that have been established to plan various aspects of the conference and to make it a big success:

  • Logistics will be responsible for the many details that make a conference run smoothly - space layouts at the Omni, menus, other venues for events, on-site registration, audio-visual needs, signage, etc.
  • Programs will solicit and vet proposals for educational sessions through an RFP process, as well as identify speakers for plenary sessions.
  • Marketing will spread the word about the conference far and wide through social media and other platforms.
  • Sponsorship will cultivate sponsor prospects, secure funding and establish a budget for the conference.
  • Technology will work on all tech related issues (website, guidebook, etc) both before and during the conference.

Should you have interest in volunteering for one or more of these committees then please contact Patrick McMahon at 860-668-3849 or by e-mail at
