CEDAS Welcomes a New Board Member

Juliet Hodge joined Southeastern CT Enterprise Region (seCTer) as the Director of Economic Development and Marketing in September 2014. In addition to promoting the region and providing professional and technical support to businesses and municipal economic development initiatives, her role at seCTer is to coordinate with other committees and partners on the development and update of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for New London County. As a representative of seCTer she chairs the City of Groton Economic Development Commission and was recently asked to serve on the Transition Team for the Thames Maritime Heritage Park Committee to assist the group create a formal nonprofit organization. Juliet is a member of the Eastern CT Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee. She is also very involved with the Southeastern CT Entrepreneurs Network.
Juliet is a planner by trade, and prior to making the change to Economic Development she worked as the town planner in North Stonington for 6 years. There she provided support to the Planning and Zoning Commission, Economic Development and Affordable Housing Commission as well as the Conservation Commission. She completed the Town’s Comprehensive Plan in 2013. Prior to working for North Stonington, Juliet was a regional planner with the Southeastern CT Council of Governments and was assigned the Town of Salem during her time there. Juliet is a member of the American Planning Association (APA), the CT Chapter of APA, and is a certified Zoning Enforcement Official.
Juliet received her BA from College of the Atlantic in Environmental Policy and her Masters in Community Planning from the University of Rhode Island where she concentrated in Urban Design. At URI she was awarded a Fellowship and was placed at DECD working with the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship program and was given an award for Academic Excellence.
