Town Planner/Economic Development Director

The Town of Plainville is currently accepting applications for a Town Planner/Economic Development Director. Salary DOQ is $72,000 - $78,000 plus excellent benefits.
Position Summary This position is highly visible and works closely with the Town Manager, Town and State officials, Economic Development Agency, and developers on a variety of administrative, supervisory and technical work activities. Therefore the applicant should be a self starter with an exceptional ability to work with various groups of people. The position administrates, develops and enforces all applicable state statutes, town ordinances, local planning and zoning regulations, and state and inland wetland regulations. It also coordinates and administers economic development programs and should have ability to understand, create and promote a marketing plan for new business and business retention. The position provides staff assistance to the Planning and Zoning Commission, Economic Development Agency, the Town Manager, and other agencies and boards as directed and should have experience with the management of a Plan of Conservation and Development.
Qualifications
- BA in planning, economic development, public administration or related field (Masters preferred)
- Three to five years experience (preferably in a municipality)
- AICP certification desirable
